About Erika

As a writer and editor, I have a professional, smart sense with design, and I am passionate about supporting entrepreneurs and job-seeking individuals with their communications and marketing needs. Currently, I support small-business owners and creators with their WordPress-based websites, electronic newsletters (ex. MailChimp, InfusionSoft), e-mail and phone communications, book promotion, editing, writing and organization. Additionally, I am passionate about helping job-seekers create stellar résumés and cover letters, as well as present themselves well during interviews.

My master’s degree is in English: Rhetoric, Composition and Professional Writing. In May 2011, I completed 13+ years of teaching college-level writing courses (project management, business writing, first-year writing and rhetoric, creative nonfiction) at different universities in Wisconsin and Colorado, including teaching for the Program for Writing and Rhetoric at the University of Colorado at Boulder for the last seven years. Prior to teaching, I worked in communications and marketing for companies like American Express; taught reading, writing and math for the Huntington Learning Center; started my own consulting business for teaching professional writing seminars and coaching and assisting individual clients with job application documents; and was even a seam welder for Milwaukee Electric Tool Corporation.

I primarily write non-fiction, and you may view samples on my blog and read my non-fiction piece, “An Abandoned Home,” selected and published in the on-line journal Proximity in January 2016.

My other main business is Turtle Healing Energy, and you may view my self-created website and offerings here. I am a reiki master and professional intuitive, offering several holistic and healing services, as well as nurturing, handmade products.
